After testing products from New Roots Herbal Inc., New Roots Herbal USA Inc., we discovered 4 products that we allege to be in violation of Proposition 65 regarding heavy metal contamination. Below is the timeline of events of the case between ERC and New Roots Herbal Inc., New Roots Herbal USA Inc.
Notice of Violation I
On April 22, 2026, the Environmental Research Center filed a Notice of Violation of California Law Proposition 65 against New Roots Herbal Inc.
In this action, ERC alleges that 2 specific products manufactured, distributed, or sold by New Roots Herbal Inc. individually contain lead, a chemical listed under Proposition 65 as a carcinogen and reproductive toxin, exposing consumers to levels that require a Proposition 65 warning.
The products under investigation are:

New Roots Herbal Para Care ISO 17025 Laboratory- Tested 30-Day Complete Program - Lead
New Roots Herbal Liver Shield Synergistic Milk Thistle + alpha-Lipoic Acid Formula ISO 17025 Laboratory-Tested - Lead
New Roots Herbal Juicy Immune-Energy Preworkout Power Mix No Added Sugar - Lead
Corrected Settlement
A settlement was reached on June 22, 2026. In full satisfaction of all potential civil penalties, additional settlement payments, attorney's fees, and costs, New Roots Herbal Inc., shall pay $55,000.00 in total.
Injunctive Relief:
Beginning on the Effective Date, New Roots Herbal shall be permanently enjoined from manufacturing for sale in the State of California, distributing into the State of California, or directly selling in the State of California any Covered Product that exposes a person to a Daily Lead Exposure Level of more than 0.5 micrograms of lead per day, unless the product meets the warning requirements set forth in Section 3.2.
