Beam
After testing products from Beam Organics Inc., ERC found 4 products that we allege to violate Proposition 65 regarding alleged heavy metal contamination. Below is the timeline of events of the case between ERC and Beam.
Notice of Violation I
On June 13, 2025, the Environmental Research Center filed a Notice of Violation of California Law Proposition 65, against Beam Organics.
In this action, ERC alleges that these specific products, manufactured, distributed, or sold by Beam contain Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA), a chemical listed under Proposition 65 as a developmental toxin and known to cause cancer. They expose consumers to levels requiring a Proposition 65 warning.
The products under investigation are:
Beam Greens Superfood Blend for a Healthy Body and Mind Strawberry Kiwi Flavor - Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA)
Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder Chocolate Flavor - Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA)
Notice of Violation II
On June 24, 2025, the Environmental Research Center filed a Notice of Violation of California Law Proposition 65, against Beam Organics.
In this action, ERC alleges that this specific product, manufactured, distributed, or sold by Beam contain lead, a chemical listed under Proposition 65 as a developmental toxin and known to cause cancer. They expose consumers to levels requiring a Proposition 65 warning.
The products under investigation are:
Beam Protein 100% Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate for Muscle Recovery & Performance Chocolate Peanut Butter Flavored - Lead
Notice of Violation III
On August 22, 2025, the Environmental Research Center filed a Notice of Violation of California Law Proposition 65, against Beam Organics Inc.
In this action, ERC alleges that this specific product, manufactured, distributed, or sold by Beam contain lead and/or Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA), chemicals listed under Proposition 65 as developmental toxins and known to cause cancer. They expose consumers to levels requiring a Proposition 65 warning.

Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder Chocolate Flavor – Lead
Beam Kids All-In-One Superpowder Chocolate Chip Cookie Flavor – Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA)
Settlement
A settlement was reached on January 26, 2026 in full satisfaction of all potential civil penalties, additional settlement payments, attorney's fees, and costs, Beam Organics Inc. shall make a total payment of $40,000.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Beginning thirty (30) days after the Effective Date (the “Compliance Date”), Beam Organics Inc. shall not manufacture for sale in the State of California, “Distribute into the State of California,” or directly sell in the State of California, any Covered Product which exposes a person to a “Daily Lead Exposure Level” of more than 0.5 micrograms of lead per day unless it meets the warning requirements under Section 3.2.
